The 28-hectare Kandawgyi Lake is the heart of National Kandawgyi Gardens, supporting the garden’s wetland ecosystem, aquatic and non-aquatic flora and fauna, and water needs while adding to the scenic beauty of Pyin Oo Lwin.
National Kandawgyi Gardens features a diverse forest landscape with a variety of trees, plants and natural habitats that contribute to the garden's scenic beauty and biodiversity.
The Swamp Walk-way provides visitors with an opportunity to explore a wetland environment within National Kandawgyi Gardens and observe its natural vegetation and surroundings.
The Walk-in Aviary allows visitors to enter an enclosed bird habitat and observe birds in a naturalistic garden setting.
The Pine Forest is a unique and scenic spot representing Pyin Oo Lwin as the Hill City. It is ideal for picnics, relaxing in nature, and spending peaceful time with loved ones, as well as hosting memorable life, business, and social events.
The Fossil and Petrified Wood Museum displays various fossils and petrified woods collected from the Magway and Sagaing Regions, helping visitors gain knowledge and a better understanding of the evolution of living organisms and natural processes.
The Orchid Garden preserves more than 200 species of Myanmar wild orchids, including endemic and CITES-listed species. It also cultivates colorful hybrid orchids for orchid lovers, showcasing the beauty and diversity of these unique flowers.
The Butterfly Museum showcases around 1,000 species from Myanmar's approximately 1,200 butterfly species, along with specimens of more than 500 species from outside Myanmar.
The garden produces around 700,000 flower seedlings seasonally each year through two main nurseries, along with a forest tree nursery supporting greening and planting activities. It also provides flower and forest tree plants to local organizations to help beautify and promote the greenery of Pyin Oo Lwin.
The annual Flower Festival is the garden’s most renowned event, held every December and January to promote the garden and Myanmar’s flower production industry. Attracting more than 500,000 visitors each year, the festival brings significant benefits to local businesses and tourism while standing as one of Pyin Oo Lwin’s proudest annual events. The 18th Flower Festival was held in December 2025.
