The 28-hectare Kandawgyi Lake is the heart of National Kandawgyi Gardens, supporting the garden’s wetland ecosystem, aquatic and non-aquatic flora and fauna, and water needs while adding to the scenic beauty of Pyin Oo Lwin.
The lake with the area of 28 ha, locally well known as Kandawgyi Lake is heart of the garden and playing critical role not only for the garden but also a pride of the city. This Lake is supporting a wetland area (Kandawlay and adjacent) where a stream initiated that running throughout the city. Kandawgyi supports to several aquatic or non-aquatic fauna and flora as well as greening and water utilizing of the garden. The Pagoda on the island of the lake is delightful as a painting of the culture and religion
